Adding and editing tasks

The dialog box used for adding and editing tasks contains two tab pages:
  • General - displays the name of a task, task date and alarm settings.
  • The Comment and Alarm pages are identical to corresponding pages in the editing dialog box for Notes.

The General tab page

This tab page indicates the name of a task. Also - task date settings, alarms and other specific parameters.
The General tab page appearance:

Each task must have a title that may consist of several text lines.
Title - the field for storing a task title.

Task date and alarm settings are similar to those of Events. For description of these settings, go to the Adding and editing events section.

Advanced date/alarm settings help you specify the more flexible settings for a task date, alarm time and action (launching an application, opening a document).

The Task completion field group indicates a task status: percentage of its completeness, date and time of completion.
...% Changes the percentage of task completeness.
Check/Uncheck Checks a task as completed. At the same time, the percentage of task completeness becomes equal 100. The current date and time will be set in the Date of completion field. The value of the State field changes to Completed. If a task has already been completed, this button removes the mark signifying the task completion.
Date of completion Two fields used for displaying the date and time of task completion.

A group of fields displays the priority, task status and its assignee.
Priority Changes the priority of a task. Each priority has a corresponding graphic image. There are seven task priorities available:

State Enables you to change the current task state (status). The state field can have one of the following values:
  • Not started
  • In progress
  • Completed
  • Awaiting
  • Postponed
Assignee Used for displaying a task assignee. To select one of available contacts (or any other record) as a task assignee, click the button. The Select Item dialog box appears. (For more details on how to work with the Select Item dialog box, go to the Hyperlink - GSO link section).
Note: The Assignee field can be processed manually.
